Objectif du projet /This project seeks a comprehensive understanding of 212 “Greco-Roman” lamps {?} found at
the site of Deir el-Medina by Bernard Bruyere.

By identifying, recording and categorizing the lamps through previously established typologies, the project hopes to understand the context in which the objects would have been made, used and left behind. Furthermore, this project strives
to establish more precise provenance for the objects, by examining previous publications and the
diaries of B. Bruyere himself.
